Esse sistema din\u00e2mico, com jato central que atinge velocidades superiores a 130 cm\/s, transporta mais de 10 milh\u00f5es de metros c\u00fabicos de \u00e1gua costeira por segundo \u2014 levando consigo nutrientes e organismos marinhos para o mar aberto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cPudemos observar, com detalhe in\u00e9dito, como essa estrutura suga \u00e1guas ricas da plataforma costeira e fertiliza o oceano profundo\u201d, explica o Prof. Fialho Nehama da ESCMC, um dos autores do estudo publicado na <em>JGR Oceans<\/em>. A pesquisa destaca que esses dipolos n\u00e3o s\u00e3o raros: formam-se cerca de tr\u00eas vezes por ano no Canal de Mo\u00e7ambique e duram em m\u00e9dia 20 a 25 dias. Seu impacto na conectividade ecol\u00f3gica entre a costa e o alto-mar \u00e9 significativo, influenciando cadeias alimentares e processos biogeoqu\u00edmicos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udcce Leia o
